minkako

Minka is an experimental performing and visual artist, born in Budapest, where she trained urban dance styles such as breakin’, hiphop, house and popping. To deepen her knowledge about movement and body consciousness, she studied contemporary dance in Fontys Dance Academy in the Netherlands and in Area, Espai de Dansa i Creació in Barcelona. In her interdisciplinary creations she always represents the importance of being authentic without judgment. The concepts of her pieces are often inspired by her interest in playing with questioning and breaking the set up norms, both of society and of the performing arts. In her movement research she is reaching for being organic while also sharpening the contrast between everyday and surreal forms. She has a powerful presence on stage, she stays honest to the moment to capture the audience.
